Spartanburg, S.C. – In an effort to assist local employers in finding qualified candidates for training opportunities leading to high-demand, high-growth jobs, Spartanburg Community College’s Corporate & Community Education Division is partnering with Career Source to offer a job training fair on the SCC Tyger River Campus on August 10-11.
“This is a great chance for the unemployed and those looking for a new career to explore new job opportunities with local employers,” says Dave Just, SCC’s vice president of Corporate & Community Education. “Additionally, attendees can meet with career fair organizers to determine if they qualify for WIA/Quick Jobs Training funds.”
Available training programs for qualified applicants include Patient Care Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant/Arrhythmia Monitor Technician, Mechatronics and NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) Millwright. Programs range in length from one to six months and are funded through a grant from QuickJobs of South Carolina. Classes begin in September
Upon successful completion of a program, graduates can be considered for job vacancies with a variety of Upstate employers through Career Source.
Representatives from SCC and Career Source will attend the fair to explain eligibility requirements as well as tuition assistance opportunities. Candidates accepted into the training program may be sponsored by a QuickJobs grant.
The training fair will be held on the SCC Tyger River Campus in Duncan on Tuesday, August 10 from 5-7pm and also on Wednesday August 11, 10am-12 noon in the BMW Center Room 311.
