Spartanburg Community College (SCC) will host a free open house event on Tuesday, June 19 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Dan Lee Terhune Student Services Building located on the SCC central campus in Spartanburg. The event is open to students, parents and career seekers interested in SCC’s academic programs.
“We’re inviting anyone interested in attending college, seeking a new career or professional development to experience SCC first-hand. Everything SCC has to offer will be on display at open house,” said Lynn Dale, SCC’s interim director of admissions. “Not only will we showcase our many academic program offerings, attendees can also tour our campus and speak to faculty members about specific programs and career opportunities. Current SCC students will also be on hand to share their experiences and answer questions about why SCC is the smart choice for a college education.”
Guests can also attend information sessions that focus on the admissions and financial aid processes, as well as support services that help students make the most of their educational experience, such as career planning, counseling, student disability services, student activities, advising and tutoring. Attendees will also be eligible for door prizes, including SCC t-shirts and a $500 scholarship from the SCC Foundation.
Representatives from BMW will be available to provide information and answer questions about the BMW Scholars Program – a unique opportunity that allows students to work part-time at BMW while attending classes full-time at SCC. Students gain hands-on experience and may become viable candidates for full-time positions at BMW.
