Creating-ComicsWEBWe have just reduced the tuition cost of “The Art of Creating Comics” $60. You can take this class now for only $79.

Are you a big kid at heart and would enjoy using your imagination to create comics? This class will teach you the basics of creating comics, from comic-base scripting and character designing to cleaning up final inks. You will create a story assignment to share with the class. You will also learn about the commonly used tools in the making of comics, as well as the importance of perspective drawing and lighting.

In addition, the class will discuss using programs, such as Photoshop, for resizing pages to correct size and cleaning up for the final product. Interest in any style or genre of comics is welcome. Class supplies for first class – sketch paper and #2 pencils. Additional supply list will be given at the first class. Prerequisite: Basic Pencil Drawing or equivalent skill.

Class Dates: March 10 – 26; 6:30 – 8:30 pm

This course will show you how to improve the academic achievement of at risk learners in the learning environment by teaching you the seven factors that disable disadvantage learners when compared to their peers. You will learn solutions through positive classroom climate, teaching sustainable content, and producing excitement from learners who are at risk of failing. You will be able to develop student engagement strategies that are tied to socioeconomic status and you will also learn how to build your student’s capacity to think and focus along with process and recall of content.

Differentiated Instruction & The Diverse Classroom
This course will show you how to differentiate the learning environment for students in a mixed ability classroom. You will implement instructional strategies and create a plan of action on how to build a differentiated classroom for today’s learners. This course is designed for participants who teach children of all levels with various learning abilities (to include: English Language Learners, Gifted Education Learners and At-Risk Learners).
